Delete my account
SJEC Issue and Warranty Tracker — mobile application
You can delete your account at any time. There are two ways to do it, and both reach the same place.
OPTION 1From inside the application
- Open the SJEC Issue and Warranty Tracker and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete my account and confirm.
Your account is closed immediately and you are signed out on every device.
OPTION 2By email, without the application
If you can no longer sign in, or you would rather not use the application, send us a request instead.
- Email info@sjec.com.my from the address your account uses.
- Put “Delete my SJEC Warranty Tracker account” in the subject line.
- Include your full name and the company you work for, so we can find the right account.
We act on requests within 21 days. We may contact you first to confirm your identity — that protects you as much as it protects us. We will write to you when it is done.
WHAT HAPPENSWhat is deleted, and what is kept
Deleted
- Your name and email address on the account.
- Your password and every sign-in session, on every device.
- Any invitation you are holding, and any you have sent that nobody has taken up yet.
- Your email address and your device’s address in our security records.
- The record of which jobs your account could see.
- Your place on the daily digest, so those emails stop.
- Your ability to sign in. The account no longer exists.
Kept
- The project, punch list and warranty records themselves, including photographs attached to them.
- Security records of sign-ins and changes, with your email address and your device’s address taken off them.
- Whether the account was a client, supplier or SJEC one — which is what keeps the neutral description below truthful. It no longer points at a person.
- A Certificate of Completion you signed in the application, whole: the drawn signature and the name you signed under, and the fact that you issued it. It is your company’s executed acceptance of handover, and a signature with the name struck off it would not be evidence of anything. Certificates accepted without a signature are anonymised like everything else.
- Contact details your company gave us: a name, email address or telephone number written against a job, a warranty item, or your company’s own record with SJEC. Those are contract documentation rather than part of your account, so job correspondence may still reach an address on one of those lists. To have them changed or removed, say so in your request.
Why those records stay. They document construction work carried out under a contract between SJEC and your company, and both sides may need to rely on them for as long as the warranty and any claim period runs. A defect raised in 2026 may be the whole answer to a question asked in 2031 — and it is as often the client relying on it as us.
Where such a record names you, we replace your name with a neutral description such as “a representative of the client”, so the record survives without identifying you. If you delete the account from inside the application this happens immediately; if you write to us, it happens when we act on your request.
We keep those records for the duration of the warranty period on the job and for seven years after it ends, then delete or anonymise them. Section 8 of the privacy policy explains how that period is arrived at.
ONE MORE THINGYour colleagues’ access is separate
Deleting your account removes you, not your company. If your company should no longer have access to the application at all, say so in your request or ask your company administrator to contact us, and we will close the company’s accounts together.
